A milestone moment for Australian financial services, and you're invited.

Future of Innovation in Australia's Financial Services Sector

Featuring ASIC Chair, Joe Longo

Thursday, May 21, 2026

11.00am - 1.00pm AEST, including networking lunch
Block Office - The Brewery, 5 Central Park Avenue, Chippendale, NSW 2008 (map)

Joe Longo will join a distinguished panel hosted by the Tech Council of Australia and Block for his final public appearance as Chair of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), marking the conclusion of his five-year tenure leading one of Australia’s most influential regulatory bodies.

The discussion will coincide with the release of new ASIC-commissioned research, developed in collaboration with the Digital Finance Cooperative Research Centre (DFCRC). The research examines how emerging technologies, including how automation, tokenisation, distributed ledger technology (DLT) and artificial intelligence are reshaping payments, markets and financial services across Australia.

Bringing together senior leaders from across industry and policy, the panel will explore the implications of these developments for innovation, regulation and market structure.

This event serves as the starting point for a broader, constructive dialogue between the public and private sectors on how to enable innovation while maintaining trust and stability in Australia’s financial system.

Join us for a timely exchange on the forces shaping Australia’s financial system and the path ahead.
