Mariana Paun is the Chief Business Resilience Officer (CBRO) at Zepto, a leading Australian innovator in real-time account-to-account payments. In this newly created executive role, she unifies the Information Security, Operations, and Risk & Compliance teams to strengthen Zepto’s governance and operational excellence as the company scales. Mariana joined Zepto in July 2022 as the company’s first dedicated security hire and has since been instrumental in building the firm's security and operational foundations, moving from Zepto's first security hire to a member of the executive team.

With over a decade of experience in security governance and risk, Mariana previously held senior leadership roles at Afterpay, Block, and Littlepay, where she helped scale critical infrastructure during periods of rapid global growth. A strategic thinker and passionate mentor, she focuses on embedding resilience into the core of the business to enable safe innovation and maintain trust within the payments ecosystem. Mariana believes that strong security foundations are non-negotiable for protecting the flow of client funds and supporting the long-term resilience of Australia's real-time payments infrastructure.
